Changes to U+2 in Fort Collins

Reach out with your questions!  Let's discuss how this may impact renters, investment owners, or potential buyers!  See the link below for updates from the City of Fort Collins.

From the City of Fort Collins...
Current regulations remain in place until July 1st, however, the City is preparing for implementation. After July 1 any occupancy limits can only be set based on safety, health, and welfare and the following will no longer be required or available:

Occupancy Disclosure Form (both at time of sale and during lease signing)
Host Family Permits
Extra Occupancy Rental Regulations

The City is taking steps to remove code language and ordinances that address occupancy.  This includes language in both the Land Use Code and the Municipal Code. Staff will be presenting information at a Council work session on May 14, 2024, and at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on June 20, 2024. The first hearing (regular Council meeting) to amend the codes is scheduled for June 4, 2024.

The City is committed to maintaining the health and safety of residents and quality of neighborhoods. Codes and programs that will continue to support these efforts include the International Property Maintenance Code, local nuisance codes, and the Public Nuisance Ordinance.

Any new information after the May 14th (2024) work session will be posted here: https://www.fcgov.com/neighborhoodservices/occupancy.
