Eastman Park Poudre River Experience - What to know before you go!

Eastman Park Poudre River Experience - What to know before you go!

1.  Where is it?  What is it?

The Eastman Park River Experience is located in the heart of Windsor, Colorado.  It's located off of 7th Street and Eastman Park Drive north of the playground, shelter, skatepark and soccer fields. The Eastman Park River Experience features a river-mile devoted to local kayaking, canoeing, tubing and water play.

This outdoor experience features a dedicated float launch and take out area, a scenic river plaza that provides river access for general water enjoyment, picturesque views of the Cache la Poudre River and Longs Peak and an amazing new hangout spot.

You can bring your own water vessel or rent one at the Eastman Park Pavilion.  There is no admission fee to use the river experience. Tube rentals are available from late May to early September.

Tube rentals open for the season Saturday May 4, 2024! Rentals will be available Saturdays and Sundays 10:00am-6:00pm May 4-19. Regular season hours (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 11:00am-5:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 10:00am-6:00pm) will begin May 25, 2024.
Rentals are available at the concessions pavilion by the playground.  Float times vary and all tubes must be returned by close of rentals. Time of last tube rented will be dependent on current flow rate of river.
We offer single tubes and kids kayaks for $5 / day, double tubes for $8 / day, quad tubes for $12 / day and cooler floats for $3 / day. Tube valet service is available!
Expert Tip: Bring a water proof bag for valuables and keys!

*Rental availability is based on water levels and weather permitting. Our tubes are for use within Town of Windsor limits on the Poudre River where it is safe for tubing during the summer season when we are open. Only enter and exit in the designated areas.

2.  Ok! Let's get started!

If you're renting a tube, park your car at the Eastman Park Pavilion. Rent your tube and then jump on their handy golf cart and they will take you to the launch area. Easy!  You'll return your tubes to the pavilion when you're done.

If you're bringing your own water vessel, no need to stop at the Park Pavilion.  You'll want to park in the small lot near the launch area.  (Go to the signs for the Poudre Pooch Park.)

The day we went was a smooth easy going float.

Expert Tip:  Bring an oar or grab a stick to push off the river bank as needed.

Life Jackets are provided when you rent a tube.

Expert Tip:  We found water shoes handy!

4.  Would we do it again?  YES!

It took us around 30 minutes for the mile long float. You can go as many times as you want on the day you rent your tube.  (See our google map link above to see where you exit the river.) If you want to ride the river again, you can either walk about 150 yards or so to the Park pavilion to request a golf cart ride back to the launch area (it appeared as if they only had one golf cart so you may have to wait) or you can walk with your tube back to the launch area - about a 5-6 minute walk.
